Welcome to the website for the Unitec Computer Science for High Schools Workshop 2015, to be held at the Mt Albert campus in Auckland on 19th and 20th, November.

This workshop is primarily a professional development opportunity for teachers to improve their knowledge of, and skills in, particular areas of IT. The areas focused upon in 2015 will be the Internet of Things (including smart sensors and wearable technology), augmented reality and cyber security (hacking practical).

The Internet of Things is a very important area to be aware of, given the impact it is likely to have every aspect of life. This is in the early stages of development in New Zealand, and this may be one of few current forums to get an opportunity to learn and experiment with this – this workshop will give you the knowledge to introduce this to your students.

Conference in 2014

What teachers said about our 2014 conference:

“This was one of the best workshops I have attended since 2010 (apart from the regular electronics ones I attend) and being the first for me in CS4HS I absolutely Loved it. "

"I found all the lecturers and the helpers very supportive, patient and extremely generous with their time."

"The host of ideas hints and tips I am able to take away. Have a long shopping list and lots of ideas how to make my curriculum more exciting and engaging."

"This was a fantastic event. I deeply appreciate the hard work that went into organising it. The food was fantastic, the workshops were fun and the prizes were an awesome added bonus."

This website will give you all the information about the workshop. As the schedule and the workshops are finalized, we will update these pages. For more information about other CS4HS workshops this year in NZ please click here.
